Ways of Being
Ways of Being

An ongoing portrait series exploring the performance of self.

The performance of self is a deeply human exercise that we all engage in to varying degrees. Performance comes from a profoundly personal and vulnerable place even if the performance itself is more aspirational than accurate. There's much to be understood from each person's performance - about who they are or who they want to be or who they want others to think they are. Through this essay I hope to create space for moral imagination, empathy, and understanding of the other; a space for the viewer to be present with each subject in an intimate setting.
